What does a custom energy drink cost? How to budget properly

Volume is the biggest lever

We produce from 504 cans. The unit price drops clearly with every additional batch because setup and print preparation are spread over more cans. If you hand out drinks twice a year anyway, one larger run is usually cheaper – provided you have storage space.

Format and content

250 ml slim is the cheapest giveaway format. 500 ml means more liquid and more material but reads as a full product. Isotonic and apple spritzer sit close to the energy drink; private-label water is the most affordable option.

Printing is included – correction loops cost time

The can is printed across the full surface, whether your design is one colour or complex. What gets expensive is delay: every correction loop pushes the production start and therefore the delivery date.

Budget the extras realistically

These items are often forgotten:

• Shipping boxes for 1, 2 or 3 cans: CHF 2.90 per box
• Delivery to several sites instead of one address
• Storage if production finishes before the event
• A reserve of roughly 10 percent for restocking and samples

Compared with classic promotional items

A drink gets consumed instead of ending up in a drawer. Against pens or USB sticks in a similar price range, contact quality is higher: the can sits on the desk, gets photographed and shared.
