Produce your own energy drink: a checklist for companies

A branded energy drink is how many companies enter private label – as a promotional item, a team drink or a product to sell. This checklist walks through the decisions you make before production.

    1. Define the purpose: giveaway or retail product

Promotional cans are given away – logo visibility and an easy-to-hand-out format matter most. A retail product needs considered labelling, pricing and restocking. The purpose determines volume, format and design effort.

Straight to the topic: Custom energy drink 250 ml slim or 500 ml, full 360° print, from 504 cans.

    2. Plan volume and repeat orders

You can start from 504 cans. If you reorder regularly, set the rhythm early: a larger run lowers the unit price but needs storage space. For events, a reserve of around 10 percent is sensible.

    3. Choose flavour and format

You can choose energy drink, isotonic sports drink or apple spritzer in a 250 ml slim can or a 500 ml can. The 250 ml can is the classic giveaway; the 500 ml can works as a retail or catering product. Private-label water is available in 330 ml and 500 ml.

    4. Prepare your artwork

For a clean print result you need your logo as a vector file and brand colours ideally as CMYK values. Use our layout templates – they include bleed and the can's safety zones. If you have no design team, we create a free draft.

    5. Work backwards from the deadline

Count back from your target date: roughly three weeks of production after design approval, plus the internal approval loop before that. For trade fairs, add a two-week buffer so delivery and packing are not rushed.
